Communication
The Branch Committee tries to keep members of Clydebank Sub Aqua Club  fully informed about what is going on in the Branch, for example, where we are diving, changes to dive plans owing to changed weather, reminders about the Diving Theory Lecture programme and social events. The easiest and quickest way to do this is via e-mail and/or telephone and/or "Scubatext" ** mobile phone text messaging service. Prospective new members would be required to have access to at least one of the above facilities.
We regret that we cannot use the postal service.

The Clydebank Sub Aqua Club E-mail address is:

                    Clydebank Branch SSAC SCUBATEXT

All you have to do is text a password (available from the Webmaster)  to the Scubatext Mobile number. Your phone number will be authorised by the Clydebank Scubatext Administrator and that’s it!
If a member sends a text via Scubatext, all Club members in the system get the message and are kept informed of events.0601_George_on_the_Mobile_Phone

You can also send FREE texts to everyone in Clydebank Branch who is on the system.

Set it up today and keep the number
Scubatext 07797801661 on your Mobile.

Please Note:- Just to be sure that your Mobile Phone Service Provider does not charge you, check what is on your Account before you first send any messages.

How Scubatext works

We have a total of 1000 free sent text messages per calendar month, divided in to 250 sent messages per week. What does this mean?

If you send one text message to 20 people in the Scubatext group, 20 sent messages come off the total of 1000, and so on.

Hand Signals used in Diving
Whilst you are on the Communications page, let us think about underwater communication. The only way to easily communicate underwater is to use clear hand signals. It is important that you give clear signals as the visibility may be poor, or there may be an urgent situation developing and you would like your dive buddy to take immediate, appropriate action to assist you. Conversely, you do not wish routine hand signals to be mistaken for something more urgent.

Please go to this link for an excellent demonstration of many of the typical hand signals used in SCUBA diving throughout the world:  http://www.scubadivingfanclub.com/Diving_Signals.html
